A fun-filled week at the Kid's Holiday Club in Enhlanhleni, KwaDabeka co-hosted by CAST and our partner, KwaDabeka Baptist Church. Almost 100 children have attended each day and are guided by Psalm 23 as the theme of the event.
What a blessed few days at our retreat for Church pastors who form part of our Church Alliance We had leadership from churches in Phoenix, KwaDabeka, Noodsberg, Chibini, Esikhawini, Edamini, Mariannridge, and Westville join us for 2 nights at Harburg Retreat Centre in Northern KZN. We are excited to share that our project to help the Nzimande family is complete! 42-year-old Prudence Nokuthula Nzimande lives in the previously disadvantaged township of KwaDabeka, near Pinetown in Durban, South Africa. She shares her home with her family of 10 made up of 5 school-going children and 5 adults who lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Today we share the story of a learner in our ECD programme who has made a great improvement in his literacy skills. Currently in Grade 4 at Mcopheleli Primary School, 11-year-old Luyanda Mthethwa from KwaDabeka had great difficulty with the basics, not being able to write the letters of the alphabet, and struggled to form words in English and isiZulu.
