WESTVILLE
Westville is an area west of Durban: a formerly independent town, in the eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality, South Africa, it is situated 10 km inland from the Durban CBD.
The population is diverse, predominantly white and Black African, with several Christian churches of different denominations.
In Westville, there are many people who reside from neighbouring townships i.e. Claremont and Chesterville who come to the area as job-seekers and beggars on the street. This is due to the high unemployment rate the country is facing.
To help alleviate this problem, CAST offers Relief Services to those seeking work in terms of providing clothing, and referring those in need to our community centres in the areas closest to where they reside for further assistance. On average, 50 people are assisted by our social worker each month.
