George officially resigned from CAST as of January 2024 and is currently working part-time until March 2024 to assist during the transition period. George has been a part of CAST since its inception: first as a Home Ground Westville Baptist Church intern in 2008, then officially joining the first CAST team from 2009-2012 as a Sports Coordinator. After a short time in the USA, he returned to CAST in 2013 as Head of Department for CAST’s Sport and Youth Development Programme, and more recently he has managed CAST’s fundraising and public relations since 2020.
Although we are sad to say goodbye to George, we are excited for his new journey as he launches his own non-profit organisation, Isiseko Imara (meaning Firm Foundations in Swahili and isiXhosa), focusing on addressing the issue of fatherlessness in KwaZulu-Natal. Since the early days of CAST’s boys2Men camps and sports coaching programme, George has always been passionate about fatherhood and mentoring young men, and this transition will enable him to fulfil God’s call on his life.
